Last week, M360 joined the European refurbishment and circular-technology community at Retech Days Berlin 2026. Two days at the Estrel Berlin brought the entire secondary device ecosystem under one roof – refurbishers, retailers, telecom operators, ITAD specialists, marketplaces and the technology partners that support them.
We came away with a clear conviction: the European market for used and refurbished devices is no longer an emerging niche. It is maturing into a professional, standards-driven industry and doing so faster than many expected.
Four themes that defined the show
Compliance has moved to the centre of the conversation. A year ago, data erasure and certification were often treated as a final checkbox. This year they were front and centre. Procurement teams are asking detailed questions about audit trails, certified erasure and data residency. Sustainability and ESG leaders – not only operations managers – are now at the table, because the way a device fleet is processed has become part of the corporate sustainability story.
Automation is accelerating. The shift from manual, technician-by-technician diagnostics toward automated, scalable processes was visible everywhere in the conversations, on the show floor and in the questions operators are asking. At the volumes the industry now handles, manual processes simply do not scale and the economics of automation have become impossible to ignore.
Operators want fewer tools doing more. One frustration we heard repeatedly: too many businesses are stitching together separate systems for diagnostics, grading and data erasure. The appetite for consolidation – one platform, one workflow, one trusted certificate – is real and growing.
Data residency matters more than ever. For European operators handling European consumers’ devices, where and how data is processed has become a procurement requirement, not a preference.
What this means for M360
These themes are, in many ways, the reason M360 exists. We built an EU-native platform that brings instant device insights, 80+ point automated diagnostics, cosmetic grading and ADISA-certified data erasure together – producing a single, trusted device certificate. With ISO 9001, ISO 27001, GSMA accreditation and ADISA certification behind it, M360 was designed for exactly the procurement-grade, compliance-first market that Retech Days made so visible this year.
The conversations are the point
But the most valuable part of any event is never the show floor – it’s the conversations. Thank you to the organisers for bringing the industry together so well and to everyone who stopped by to share how they work, where they’re heading and the problems they’re solving. Those conversations sharpen how we build and where we focus.
The European secondary device market is growing up. We’re proud to be part of that story and we’re already looking forward to the next chapter.
